So I seem to have gotten myself into a worse situation than it should have been!
I’ve been trying to get Silverlight plug-in to work on Safari on my Macbook Pro. While I had the plug-in installed already, it wasn’t working, and I thought it needed an update. Trying to update it through the Microsoft website did not work.
So, I looked online for how to remove Silverlight in order to start afresh. I closed Safari, found all the Silverlight files in Finder, and moved them into the trash. I then emptied the trash and restarted my computer.
I then went back to the Microsoft website to download Silverlight again. After downloading, the file showed up for a split second, then was gone! I searched but couldn’t find it anywhere. So, I downloaded it again. Same thing. It shows up for a split second, and if I manage to double click it before it disappears, it says ’file not found.’
So now, I have no idea what I did to make the file download not work. I am sure I only removed Silverlight files before restarting, but could I have somehow messed something up?
Most importantly, what can I do to fix this and get Silverlight?
